AI TeacherElio Mercer“That diagonal fence line pulls the eye straight to the one living thing in frame, exactly where it should go. Watch the graffiti competing with it though; drop your angle slightly and let 'RECLAIM' echo the plant instead of shouting over it.”

Explore how it worksMore than course content
A library of videos does not teach.
At New Photo Schools, students don’t just watch lessons and collect completion ticks. They discuss ideas, submit work, reflect on their choices and receive guidance that responds to their progress.
New Photo Schools adds guidance, memory and a learning experience that grows with every student.

Pilot
Start small. See how it works for you.
Ada’s advice: start with one small group before deciding how far you want to take it.
You don’t need a new business plan or a finished catalogue of courses. Bring one journey, invite a handful of students and see how the school fits around the way you already teach.
Watch how students use it, notice what works, learn what you’d change, and decide what comes next from there.

Feedback
Before judging the photograph, the teacher understands the photographer.
A student can submit their work and explain what they were trying to create. Their AI teacher asks questions, considers the aims and philosophy of the journey, and gives thoughtful feedback grounded in the educator’s own approach.

What were you hoping the empty space would make the viewer feel?
I wanted the subject to feel isolated, but I'm not sure it comes across.

It does begin to create that feeling. Let's look at how the light and the position of the figure could make the isolation even stronger.
Assessment
Understanding cannot always be measured with a checkbox.
Assessments are guided conversations. Instead of only asking whether an answer is right or wrong, the teacher explores how the student reached it, asks for clarification and helps them develop their thinking.
The goal isn’t simply to judge the answer. It’s to deepen the student’s understanding.

You said the photograph feels balanced. Which two visual elements are creating that balance for you?
The horizon line and the dark tree on the left, I think.
Memory
Every conversation becomes part of the journey.
The teacher remembers the student’s goals, earlier reflections, submitted work and areas of uncertainty. Over time, today’s guidance can connect back to something the student was trying to achieve weeks earlier.

Earlier in the journey, you said you wanted your photographs to feel less controlled. This image feels like a real step in that direction.

Through regular conversations and reflections, the school can pick up signals in what students say about confidence, uncertainty, frustration or renewed motivation. This gives the educator a clearer picture of how the student is experiencing the journey.
Those signals can help the school check understanding and adapt its guidance.

Inside My Gallery
Your gallery remembers where every photograph began.
Submissions are automatically organised by school, journey and activity — not dropped into one endless camera roll. Learners can revisit the brief, compare their choices and see their progress in context.

Growth tier
Stop tinkering. Build the thing.
Raven’s take: you’ve tested the idea. Now give it room to become a real school.
Bring in more students. Add another journey. Expand the teaching experience and see what holds up when people actually use it.
You’ll learn more from a school in motion than from endlessly polishing one in private.

Your time stays limited. Your school doesn't have to.
One school. Many teachers.
Give every journey the teacher it deserves.
Create distinct AI teachers for different learning journeys. Make one playful and imaginative for children, calm and reassuring for beginners, or direct and demanding for an advanced masterclass.
Shape how each teacher speaks, what they value and how they guide students. Then assign the right teacher to each journey.
Not one generic assistant for your entire school.
Each teacher can have their own identity, voice, philosophy and teaching style.

Reach more students without making every journey feel the same.
Launch a children’s workshop, a beginner programme and a professional masterclass inside the same school.
Each can have its own teacher, tone and learning experience, while still being grounded in your knowledge and material.
